Skin, training and sleep after forty
One woman's routine, written down in the order I do it — with the price of everything I got wrong. Start with the free audit, or go straight to the book.
I'm Caroline. I'm an interior designer, not a doctor, and I have nothing to send you to a clinic for. I spent north of three thousand dollars on creams, devices and supplements for my face, kept the receipts, and then went and read what the evidence actually said about each one. What survived that is a short routine I have done every day since. It is all here, and most of it is free.
Two things to do here
Twelve things women over forty pay for that do nothing — graded by the evidence, priced at what I paid. Tick what is on your shelf and it adds up what those things are costing you a year. At least one is usually a subscription you forgot about.
Everything I do, in the order I do it. My whole day from 6:40am to lights out, the twelve-week retinoid ramp, the two training sessions a week, and a ninety-day tracker so you start doing rather than reading.
Fourteen days, no questions. If it isn't what you hoped for, reply to your receipt and the money comes back.
Also free
Twenty products, devices and supplements graded by the evidence, with the price I paid for each. It is the longest chapter in the book and the one I would read first. Nothing removed, nothing to enter.

84 pages · 18 chapters · 4 parts
Before you start
Read it once from front to back. Then go to chapter sixteen and start three things.
The whole method on one page. The other eighty pages are the detail.
Part One · A Day — waking to lights out
Daylight and water before coffee. Ten minutes, and it decides how you sleep tonight.
Sunscreen is the morning. What goes under it, and what does not need to.
The one thing I take without evidence you will see it work — and why I show you that rather than hide it.
Twenty-five to thirty grams of protein, seven breakfasts, and the decade I spent eating like a woman who wanted to be smaller.
Not undoing the morning: lunch, water, a walk, and the coffee rule that protects your sleep.
Eaten early enough to be finished three hours before bed. And an honest paragraph about alcohol.
Cleanse, retinoid, moisturiser — with the twelve-week ramp, which retinoid to buy, and at what strength.
The one habit I would keep if I could keep only one. Free, which is why nobody sells it to you.
Part Two · The Week, the Month, the Year
Two sessions, every lift, sets and reps, at home with two dumbbells. This does more for a face after fifty than anything you put on it.
Twenty minutes, once a month: what is running out, what to cancel, and the photograph.
When everything goes wrong, the routine collapses to three things and twelve minutes — decided in advance.
Part Three · What Worked and What Didn't
Seven things, each with the honest waiting time. The number is what stops you quitting.
Twenty products, devices and supplements graded by the evidence, with the price I paid. The audit you just did is the short version of this chapter.
Not products — patterns. Each one cost me years rather than money, and each has a fix.
What to protect first in each decade. It is never too late; what changes is the order.
Part Four · Start Here
Three habits, not twelve, with the week the retinoid comes in and the week the training does.
Thirteen weeks, three habits, one check-in a week. Print it, or tick it on a screen.
Same light, same distance, no smile — the only feedback in the book you can genuinely trust.
And at the back: the closing chapter, the whole routine on two tear-out pages — the day, the week, the timelines and the shelf — and the sources, with every study the numbers rest on.
